Gaming again!

So I had been stuck in a bit of rut with gaming, and reading to be honest. I had finished Mass Effect Andromeda and with all the other games I had sitting there, I wasn’t feeling any of them and I felt swamped with having, what felt like, so many. This feeling comes up every so often and usually goes away on it’s own in a few days or a week.

So, it gets to Saturday night, I finish work and decided to treat myself to a very naughty takeaway, a cheeky cider and a film.

As you can see I went with Assassins Creed. (I enjoyed it a lot, good action!)

I had tried to play the second Assassins Creed game many years ago, with not a lot of success, I kept killing Ezio as I tried to race his brother right near the beginning so gave up after that. When I saw Syndicate had been released near the end of 2015 I was intrigued. It was based in the UK, in the capitol no less, which I am not far away from and have visited on a few occasions. It had Steampunk elements which I love! I’ve never done stealthy games, I’m one of those people who charges in, all guns and magic blazing, subtle isn’t my thing. Yet I kept looking at Syndicate….

I gave in just after Christmas, literally just after, Boxing Day lol, it had gone down a little in price by then. I played it and loved it! I got just over halfway through but gave up after getting stuck on a really annoying tail without getting too close or too far away bit >.<

After watching the film, as you can understand, I was in a very Assassin kinda mood, so I put the disc back in, installed, updated and decided to wander round for a little while in 1868 London. The muscle memory kicked back in after a quick glance at the controls and soon as sneaking way around the rooftops, like I did 18 months before! I even got past the bit I was stuck on before. (Annoying to see how close I was to doing it!)

So gaming is back on track! I’m not sure what I’m gonna play after I finish Assassins Creed Syndicate, but that’s a worry for another day. I’m also making moves to complete Fire Emblem Awakening on 3DS to then make a real proper go to complete Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright, Conquest and Revelation. Also Fire Emblem Echoes has just dropped.

I’m gonna be busy ^^

  1. I think you should definitely play Fire Emblem: Awakening and Echoes, but probably hold off on Fates. While I enjoyed the games, Nintendo fragmented the story over 3 games and it ends up feeling like a very disconnected experience. I probably wouldn’t have minded it too much if it was a great story, but nothing about it ever pulled me in. Once you’re done with the Ezio games, definitely jump to Black Flag.
That said, would you like to share your articles in our FB group? We’re a growing community of gaming bloggers and we’re always looking for more writers to share their work and discuss all things gaming. Just search for “Game Bloggers United” on Facebook. 😀

    • I already got right near the end of Awakening before realizing I missed a kid and all options for their dad had been married off to someone else, so had to start again =/ I have started Fates but not got very far. Echoes I have ready to go ^^ I probably won’t be going back to the Ezio games, or any other of the previous Assassins Creed to be honest. I have too many games as it is without adding even more to the pile >.<

That's really kind of you to ask, and I really appreciate the thought, however I don't use Facebook. I also only started my blog this month, still finding my feet as it were. Thank you again though! ^^
