Holiday and Gaming

Hay folks, sorry I haven’t posted in a few days >.<

I’ve been on holiday from work since Saturday so have been enjoying late nights, late mornings, driving my boyfriend nuts (he’s here for the week) and trying to make a dent in the TV I have sitting saved and the gaming stack which I was pretty much up to date on till ‘Mad March’ hit me hard.

I’m currently playing Mass Effect Andromeda.

I was late coming to this series, my boyfriend is a massive fan and recommended it to me many times, but I always resisted. Pretty much cause I didn’t think I could play shooting games, either with a controller or keyboard and mouse. These past eighteen months to two years I feel I’ve grown as a gamer, I’ve tried, played, enjoyed and completed games I never thought I could play.
Mass Effect 1 (PS3),
The Uncharted series (PS4),
Gears of War 4 (Which I co-oped with my boyfriend, me on PC him on Xbox One)
Overwatch (PS4) (I don’t normally play first person games either, but Overwatch is so much fun!, plus I stay out of comp and party chat unless with friends)

I thought I would struggle with Andromeda at first with it’s shooting and more action packed combat, it’s more than a cover based shooter now, but I fell in head first and haven’t looked back yet. It’s an amazing game! Yes, there are some glitches which are being patched out, in fact as I write this they are dropping a patch tomorrow. But putting all the little niggles aside, it’s awesome. The story is epic, the graphics are…just wow and the characters are so well written, you can’t help but feel connected to them as you go about your journey through Andromeda to find a new home for the people of the Milky Way.

I’m 78% through now so in the next few days I’ll have it finished, I’ll start a new playthrough, this time as Scott, once I’ve recovered from the ending, I have no doubt I will need some thinking time! It’s a Bioware game, that should tell you enough, I’ve already cried a couple of times while playing. But once I’ve started that, I need to make a dent on the back catalogue.

I’m about half way through Horizon Zero Dawn so that is probably where I will head next. Horizon was part of, as you saw earlier, what I dubbed ‘Mad March’

1st – Horizon Zero Dawn
10th – Nier Automata
23rd – Mass Effect Andromeda
I also went away from 18th-25th so lost a week there, well console/PC wise anyway, I had my DS and Vita but just felt liked reading so I did, five in fact hehe, plus wrote that story that I posted last time (See previous post if interested in some amateur smutting)

Horizon is another amazing game. So beautiful, with challenging but hella fun combat system and a story that grabs you and doesn’t let go.

I haven’t even started Nier yet! It’s installed and up to date but it made more sense to get as far as I could with Horizon before holiday, nothing was gonna getting a look in when Andromeda dropped. I’ve heard good things about, great in fact so I’m not worried when I get there, the demo was good ^^

I also need to finish The Last of Us before the second one comes out, the longer I leave it I worry I’ll never get back to it, so that is being bumped up the list, I’m a couple of hours into it already. I get so jumpy with it though and those clickers put me right on edge, that noise is freaky *shudders*

There’s a few games coming my way too…

Fire Emblem Echoes Shadows of Valentia – DS – 19th May
Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age – PS4 – 11th July
Uncharted The Lost Legacy – PS4 – 23rd Aug

Well that should keep me busy for a little while…

I asked my boss for six months off paid…she said ‘Wouldn’t we all’ ^^
